Theory and Practice
Building Space Line by Line
My artworks reflect themes of reinterpreted data and its significance in our lives, as if translated line by line from one language to a more abstract one. My works communicate by decomposing information to its basic units: data point, pixel, byte, and language—hinting at a source and rebuilding this into simple forms.

Algorithms and Art
Some concepts of my paintings are based on algorithms for reducing signal noise in a information system. It is a process of creating a mean, or average, of an image from seeing the ‘whole picture’ and using that perspective to understand the detailed view. These works have undulating vibrations at different viewing distances, but the whole image is mysterious even though the mind keeps grasping for image recognition.
